The most important communal obligation (fard kifaya) is that which pertains to the interpretation of the Qur’an, because it aids in its contemplation and in understanding Allah’s intent behind it. Ibn Baz and Ibn Uthaymeen both recommended contemplating the Qur’an and referring to trustworthy scholarly interpretations, such as Tafsir Ibn Kathir, Al-Sa'di, and Al-Jazairi, and receiving its meanings from shaykhs. It is important to learn the Arabic language to understand the Qur’an, because understanding the words of Allah and His Messenger depends on knowing the implications of words for meanings.
