If a man divorces his wife with an irrevocable divorce while in good health, and then dies during her ' (waiting period), she completes the 'iddah of divorce and does not transition to the 'iddah of death. She does not inherit from him and does not observe mourning for him. However, if the divorce occurred during his life-threatening illness and he died, she inherits from him and does not observe mourning for him; because her inheritance in this case is a punishment for the husband who intended to deprive her.
