What is the ruling on someone who broke their fast for the entire month of Ramadan due to illness and travel, and was unable to make up those days because of studying and working? Is it permissible for him to give charity by feeding a poor person for each day, and what is the amount of this charity in Saudi Riyals?

The young man must make up the days he missed due to illness, based on the Almighty’s saying: "But whoever among you is ill or on a journey [during them] - then [he must make up] an equal number of other days." He is not permitted to feed the poor as long as he is able to make up the fast. He must make up what he missed before the next Ramadan (definition). He can make up the fast on his days off or on Fridays if fasting on other days is difficult for him. There is no harm in delaying the make-up fast until the summer vacation, as long as he will complete it before the next Ramadan. However, delaying it until after the next Ramadan without an excuse is not permissible. If the delay is due to an excuse such as illness, travel, or strenuous work, then there is no blame on him, and he should make up the fast whenever he is able, based on the Almighty’s saying: "So fear Allah as much as you are able."
