Threatening one's wife with divorce via mobile messages does not constitute a divorce, nor do ambiguous phrases not intended as divorce. However, the last explicit divorce pronouncement made by the husband is considered valid. The husband can take back his wife if this divorce is the first or second and as long as the wife is still in her waiting period ('iddah). This is done by him saying, "I take you back into my wedlock," or similar words. It is recommended to have witnesses for the return. The spouses are advised to avoid words of divorce and veiled threats of it. If one of them feels distressed, they should leave the house until this feeling subsides.
