Does a wife get divorced if she is told: "If you talk on the phone, you are divorced," with the intention of threat and not divorce?

Pronouncing divorce while angry does not prevent its effectiveness, unless the anger removes one's awareness. If you were aware of what you were saying, then your divorce is effective. Suspending divorce for the purpose of threat or emphasis is a matter of scholarly disagreement. Some scholars, like Ibn Taymiyyah, believe it does not occur and requires an expiation for a broken oath. However, the fatwa adopted by us is that a suspended divorce takes effect upon the fulfillment of the condition. If a divorce occurs and it is not the third, it is permissible to take the wife back before her 'iddah (waiting period) expires.
