Is it permissible to falsify a diploma certificate to a bachelor's degree in order to obtain a job after eight years of unemployment, and would the salary earned from it be unlawful (haram)?

It is impermissible to falsify a certificate to obtain a higher degree, as this falls under bearing false witness and uttering falsehood. Allah, the Exalted, said: "And shun false speech" (Quran 22:30). The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever cheats is not of us," and he enumerated bearing false witness among the gravest of major sins. And whoever falsifies a certificate and obtains employment thereby, their work and earnings are unlawful, because they were built upon deception and fraud.
