How can one reconcile the hadith stating that "infanticide before the Prophetic mission occurred during the time of Al-Fatra" and that the female infanticide perpetrator "is in the Fire," as reported in a hadith authenticated by Al-Albani, while the people of Al-Fatra will be tested on the Day of Judgment?

The term "Ahl al-Fatra" (People of the Interim Period) refers to everyone whom the divine call (Da'wah) did not reach, or reached them in a state where it could not establish proof against them, such as the insane. The preponderant opinion is that they will be tested on the Day of Resurrection. As for the hadith (definition) regarding the female burier of infants (al-Wa'idah) and the buried infant (al-Maw'udah) being in the Hellfire, it pertains to a specific female burier and does not contradict the general texts concerning Ahl al-Fatra. Ibn al-Qayyim stated that the hadith is a response regarding a specific female burier and buried infant about whom a question was posed, not a general statement about every female burier and buried infant. Al-Albani said that the definite article "al-" in "al-Maw'udah" is for a specific referent (عهد) and not for generality (استغراق), and the story of the two sons of Malika supports this.
