Is it permissible to renew a marriage contract via telephone, with the presence of witnesses who recognize the voice of the wife's guardian, if the guardian is unable to attend in person?

The majority of scholars are of the view that one who abandons prayer out of laziness does not become an apostate (kafir). Accordingly, the marriage of the questioner is valid, and she is not required to renew the contract. What is obligatory upon her is repentance and making up the prayers she missed.
