What is better for a young man, a student of Islamic knowledge, who is of limited means: to prioritize marriage to please his parents and avoid their anger, which might affect his academic achievement, or to prioritize seeking knowledge, with the impact that might have on his marriage?

We advise the man to marry, in order to achieve his interests and obey his parents. Some scholars have gone so far as to say that marriage is obligatory if the parents command it. Marriage does not hinder the pursuit of knowledge; rather, it aids it, for it is a dwelling for the soul and a tranquility for the mind.
