What is the ruling on trading in weapons that were seized by revolutionaries and citizens after the fall of the former regime in Libya?

Weapons purchased with public funds must be returned to the responsible authorities, as there is a prohibition against unlawfully seizing public funds. The Prophet (peace be upon him) warned those who do so of hellfire and stated that such a person would meet Allah on the Day of Judgment carrying what they had taken. Furthermore, the ruler has commanded that these weapons be returned to storage and handed over to the authorities. It is impermissible to sell or buy them due to the corruption that would result.
