Is it considered an injustice to a girl to deprive her of completing her education (secondary and university), and to suffice with teaching her Islamic sciences and the Holy Quran at home, under the pretext of preserving her modesty and protecting her from mixing with the opposite sex?

The mixing of men and women in universities is forbidden (haram). It is incumbent upon the guardian of a girl to prevent her from enrolling in such universities, in order to preserve her religion. There is no injustice to her in this; rather, the injustice lies in disobeying the law of Allah. The Prophet, peace be upon him, said: "There is no servant whom Allah has made a guardian over a flock, and he dies while he was deceitful to his flock, but Allah will forbid Paradise for him." And Allah, the Almighty, says: "O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire whose fuel is people and stones." Teaching girls the Quran and instructing them in matters of their religion are among their most emphasized rights.
