Which Companion longed for the Prophet and remembered the Hereafter, so he grieved, and the Prophet reassured him, and a verse was revealed concerning that?
It is narrated from Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) that a man came to the Prophet (peace be upon him) expressing his intense love for him, and that he feared not seeing him in Paradise because he would be in a lower status than the prophets. The Prophet (peace be upon him) did not answer him until Gabriel descended with the verse: (And whoever obeys Allah and the Messenger - those will be with the ones upon whom Allah has bestowed favor of the prophets, the steadfast affirmers of truth, the martyrs and the righteous. And excellent are those as companions) [An-Nisa: 69]. Al-Qurtubi mentioned that the Companion was Abdullah bin Zayd bin Abd Rabbo Al-Ansari, and it was also said: Thawban, the freed slave of the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him).
