What are the consequences of not thanking Allah Almighty for His blessings?

One of the consequences of not thanking Allah the Almighty for His blessings is their removal and disappearance, as indicated by the noble verse: "And [remember] when your Lord proclaimed, 'If you are grateful, I will surely increase you [in favor]; but if you deny, indeed, My punishment is severe.'"

A servant may also be deprived of sustenance due to his sins, as stated in the Hadith: "Indeed, a servant is deprived of sustenance because of a sin he commits." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, used to seek refuge in Allah from the vanishing of blessings, saying: "O Allah, I seek refuge in You from the vanishing of Your blessing, the changing of Your well-being, the suddenness of Your wrath, and all Your displeasure." Disobeying Allah is among the causes for the removal of blessings.
