Whoever experiences some whispers () should say: "I believe in Allah." A Muslim is not held accountable for the whispers of Satan and self-talk unless he utters them or acts upon them. The cure for waswas is to believe that it is a satanic thought and to fight against it, diverting one's mind from it by occupying oneself with beneficial knowledge, righteous deeds, sports, or permissible recreation, and by avoiding solitude.
