When does the time for performing Tawaf Al-Ifadah end?
The best time for Tawaf al-Ifadah is on the Day of Sacrifice (Yawm al-Nahr), after stoning Jamrat al-Aqabah, offering the sacrifice, and shaving the head, in accordance with the Sunnah of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. There is no specific, definitive end time for Tawaf al-Ifadah; rather, it is valid as long as a person is alive. This is the view held by the majority of scholars. The majority also hold that there is no dam (expiatory sacrifice) due from one who delays it beyond the Day of Sacrifice during the Days of Tashreeq. However, if the pilgrim returns to his homeland before performing the Tawaf, he must return to perform the Tawaf along with a dam for the delay. This is the view of Abu Hanifa and the well-known narration from Malik. According to the Malikis, a dam is required for one who delays the Tawaf until the end of the month of Dhul-Hijjah.
