Is Lady Aisha - may Allah be pleased with her - superior to Joseph - peace be upon him - and Mary, daughter of Imran - peace be upon her?

There are no practical implications to preferring one prophet or righteous person over another. It is more fitting for a responsible individual to focus on what benefits their religion and worldly life. The Prophet of Allah, Yusuf (peace be upon him), is superior to those who are not prophets. Maryam is superior to Aishah, and the verse applies generally, except for Fatimah Al-Zahra, where there are two possibilities: either Maryam is superior, or they are equal. The fact that Allah cleared Aishah from above seven heavens does not mean she is absolutely superior. The preponderant opinion among scholars is that Maryam was a siddiqah (truthful one), not a prophetess. Some scholars disagreed, citing the angels' communication with her as evidence, while others argued that angels also spoke to those who were not prophets. The imams of Ahl al-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah hold that there were no female prophets, but rather siddiqat among women, as Maryam was described in the Quran as a "siddiqah."
