What are my duties towards my mother who insults my husband and asks me to disobey him, and what is the minimum level of communication with her so that I am not undutiful and do not incur God’s wrath, knowing that this relationship negatively affects my life? And who is responsible for paying off the study loan that I was forced into at the age of sixteen, and which my mother has enough to pay off?

A mother holds a great status in Islam, but this does not permit her to unlawfully consume her children's wealth or to corrupt her daughter against her husband. Among the greatest acts of righteousness towards her is to advise her and remind her of the حرمة (prohibition) of these actions.

The husband's right is greater than the mother's right, and obedience to him takes precedence over obedience to her. It is not permissible for a woman to travel or to allow someone disliked by her husband into their home except with his permission.

The sin of a usurious loan falls upon you as an adult, and you must repay it and sincerely repent from it.
