What is the ruling on looking at scientific images that display the composition of the human body?

If you find a valid scholarly need and are safe from temptation, then there is no harm in looking at pictures of awrah (private parts) to the extent of that need. This is analogous to the permissibility of looking directly at the awrah out of necessity, such as for treatment, testimony, or judgment.
