Are the children of the woman who breastfed me, from her subsequent husband, considered my siblings through suckling?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

If the suckling is established by five full feedings within two years, then the children of the suckling woman from her first husband are considered your siblings, both paternal and maternal, by suckling. Her children from her second husband are considered your siblings only maternally by suckling. This is based on Allah Almighty’s saying: (And your mothers who suckled you, and your sisters from suckling) and the Prophet’s (peace be upon him) saying: (Suckling prohibits what lineage prohibits).
