What is God's wisdom in making sexual intercourse the means of procreation?

The fundamental principle of procreation is through intercourse between spouses. This principle may be superseded in certain instances, such as the creation of Adam and Jesus (peace be upon them both), where Jesus was created from a mother without a father; both are miracles. Similarly, pregnancy through artificial insemination occurs without intercourse. The reason for procreation is known. If the intention is that semen is the cause of human creation, then Allah Almighty has wisdom in this, including demonstrating the perfection of His power and enabling humans to realize their humble origin and become humble, as humans originate from a vile drop of fluid and insignificant dust.
