Is the father's action correct in preventing his daughter from going out and working, using as a pretext the noble verse, "And abide in your houses," and what is the correct interpretation of this verse?

Fathers are instinctively inclined to love what benefits their children, and usually, their opinions are better for their offspring, even if the children dislike it. A father preventing his daughter from working in mixed educational institutions, to protect her from corruption, is the correct course of action and may even be an obligation upon him, as he is a guardian and responsible for his flock, according to the Almighty's saying: "O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire." Thus, it becomes clear that the father is in the right in what he did, unless the daughter is in need of that job and finds no one to support her affairs, in which case he does not have the right to prevent her, provided there is no Sharia (definition) violation in it. The interpretation of the noble verse: "And abide in your houses" means: stay there and do not go out unless there is a necessity.
