Is a father permitted to prevent his daughter from working, even if the place is safe and there is no mixing?

The default is for a woman to remain in her home, and her going out to work is an exception. A father has guardianship over his children to discipline them and command them with what is good for them, based on the Almighty's saying: (O you who have believed, protect yourselves and your families from a Fire), and on the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: (Each of you is a guardian and is responsible for his subjects). The father must, in his guardianship, adhere to achieving what is best and most suitable for his children. If the father's preventing his daughter from working achieves her best interest in this world and the Hereafter, such as providing for all her needs and protecting her from the temptations of the streets, then she must obey him. However, if he does not spend on her or is unable to, and he prevents her from permissible work out of obstinacy, then he is harming her, and it is advisable for him to reconsider his stance. Nevertheless, it is not permissible for the girl to disobey her father and work without his permission and consent; rather, she should ask the wise members of the family to mediate to convince him either to provide for her or to allow her to work if it is free from corrupting influences.
