If you did not utter a clear divorce pronouncement or write it with the intention of effecting it, then divorce does not occur merely by preparing a divorce paper. We advise you to explain to your wife, who is unjustly seeking a divorce, the religious prohibition against a woman asking for divorce without a valid reason. If she does not desist and you wish to divorce her with a revocable divorce and then reconcile with her during her waiting period ('iddah), there is no objection.
