What is the ruling on acquiring Islamic magazines that contain pictures?

There is no harm in acquiring Islamic magazines that contain pictures if the intention is to benefit from their content, not from the pictures. As for magazines that are published and acquired for their pictures, they are forbidden, and it is not permissible to acquire them, due to the hadith: "Angels do not enter a house in which there are pictures." If the magazine is beneficial and one wishes to keep it, then let him efface the pictures on its cover.
