Is the pharmacist obligated to bear the financial costs of unintentional and rarely occurring work errors, such as mistakes in invoices, or breaking drug boxes, or dispensing medications not covered by insurance to an insured patient, or disposing of expired medications without the knowledge of the person in charge, and to what extent is she responsible for correcting financial errors with patients?

A private employee, such as a pharmacist, is not liable for what is damaged under his hand except in cases of negligence or transgression. Unintentional oversight and error are not considered transgression. In the case of an overpayment or underpayment for medication, the patient must be sought out and informed to settle the matter. If the patient cannot be reached, the surplus amount should be given in charity on his behalf or kept for the patient, who then has the option upon being found.
