Is it true that the earth swallowed the maker of the catapult that was used to throw Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), peace be upon him, into the fire, and he is still sinking into it until the Day of Judgment?

There is nothing in the authentic narrations from the Prophet, may Allah bless him and grant him peace, regarding the person who suggested burning Allah's Close Friend, Abraham, peace be upon him. Rather, this has been mentioned in the books of the exegetes and historians, on the authority of some Companions and Successors, with weak chains of transmission. Some narrations state that the one who suggested burning Abraham was a man from the Bedouins of Persia (the Kurds), or a man named "Hizan" whom Allah caused the earth to swallow, and he was the first to make the catapult. These narrations are mentioned for the purpose of storytelling, for reflection and consideration, and their truthfulness or falsehood cannot be definitively asserted.
