Is it permissible to wear shirts or coats made of fabric patterned with the color of leopard or snake skin, without faces on them?

It is not permissible to wear clothes adorned with images of animate beings, because such images prevent the angels from entering, due to their imitation of Allah's creation. The Prophet (peace be upon him) commanded that such images be defaced. The head is considered the essential part of an image; if it is cut off or defaced, the prohibition is lifted. As for fabric patterned with the color of a leopard or snake skin, it is permissible because it is not an image of an animal, but merely a color.
