The answer

The is approximately 85 grams of pure gold or 595 grams of pure silver. becomes obligatory when wealth reaches this amount and a full year (hawl) has passed over it. If the companies went bankrupt after the hawl had passed and you were able to pay the zakat, then the zakat becomes a settled obligation upon you and a debt that must be discharged. However, if the companies went bankrupt before the hawl passed or before you were able to pay, then nothing is due from you. If those in charge of the companies transgressed or neglected the preservation of the wealth, they are liable for it, and its zakat becomes obligatory upon its recovery for the past years; otherwise, there is no liability upon them.
