Is it permissible to get life insurance to secure the family financially after death?

Life and property insurance is forbidden and not permissible because it involves gharar (excessive uncertainty) and riba (usury/interest). Allah Almighty has forbidden all usurious transactions and transactions that involve gharar, out of mercy for the Ummah and to protect it from what harms it. Allah the Almighty says: "But Allah has permitted trade and forbidden riba." And it has been authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, that he forbade gharar.
