What is the ruling on a salary derived from tips collected in two ways: first, by rounding up invoices with decimal fractions to the nearest half and the difference going to tips; and second, by the customer giving the tip directly to the worker after the service is completed, with these accumulated tips being distributed monthly to all employees?

It is impermissible to take an increase over the real price from the customer except with his consent and knowledge, even if the increase is a small amount, due to the saying of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him: "Whoever appropriates the right of a Muslim person by his oath, Allah has made Hellfire obligatory for him and Paradise forbidden for him." A man then asked: "Even if it is something small, O Messenger of Allah?" He replied: "Even if it is a twig of Arak." As for what is taken by the second method, there is no harm in it.
