What should a married fornicator do to repent?

Adultery is one of the most heinous sins and its punishment is severe, but the door of repentance is open for those who repent. The sinner must abandon the sin, regret it, and resolve never to return to it. They should also conceal their actions and not inform anyone of what they have done, as publicizing sins is forbidden. If one does so, it is hoped that Allah will accept their repentance.
