What is the ruling on imagining the Messenger of Allah, peace and blessings be upon him, among us when in doubt about the permissibility or prohibition of a certain action, and is it permissible to imagine him to estimate the extent of his pleasure or displeasure with this action, especially since some preachers call for this idea?

Imagining the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, and recalling his image to help oneself perform a commanded act or abstain from a forbidden one is permissible. However, the best approach is to be conscious of Allah Almighty. As for imagining him to determine the permissibility of actions, this is not a way to ascertain Islamic rulings. Rather, rulings are known through evidence or by asking people of knowledge.
