Is it permissible for a menstruating woman to remember God without touching the Mus'haf?

1 min readAlso available in العربية

A menstruating woman is permitted to make remembrance of Allah with her tongue. The clearest proof for this is the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) statement to Aisha when she menstruated while in the state of ihram for Hajj: "Do what a pilgrim does, except that you do not circumambulate the Kaaba until you become pure." A pilgrim performs many forms of remembrance. A menstruating woman is also permitted to touch all books except the Mus'haf (the Quran).
