Does a divorce take effect with the words "you are divorced" when the wife does not disclose the reason for her anger, with her intention not to answer because she rejects the threat, and the husband's intention is to know the reason and not to effect a divorce?

The fatwa is that the wife is divorced by the suspension of her divorce on her not informing him of the reason for her anger, because he broke his oath. The majority of scholars hold that a suspended divorce occurs upon the fulfillment of the condition. If this divorce does not complete the three divorces, then the husband may reconcile with his wife before her waiting period expires. There is another opinion held by some scholars, such as Sheikh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, who holds that an oath of divorce made with the intention of emphasis does not effect a divorce upon breaking the oath; rather, it necessitates an expiation for breaking an oath.
