Is it forbidden to hang pictures of the deceased or to keep them in the house?

It is not permissible to hang pictures of living beings in homes or elsewhere, whether they are of the living or the dead, or for remembrance or any other reason; because of the Prophet's (peace and blessings be upon him) saying to Ali (may Allah be pleased with him): "Do not leave any picture without obliterating it, nor any raised grave without leveling it."
