What is the ruling on using fireworks during Eid and occasions such as weddings?

Contemporary scholars have differed on the ruling concerning the use of fireworks and firecrackers on permissible occasions. Some, like Sheikh Muhammad ibn Salih al-Uthaymeen, have adopted an absolute prohibition, basing their view on the fact that they constitute a waste of money, are Islamically forbidden, cause harm to people, and may lead to fires. However, users of these firecrackers often do not adhere to these conditions, which leads to accidents, injuries, and annoyance to people. In addition, their purchase is considered a waste of money due to their high cost, and they may cause terror among the peaceful.
