Is it permissible for friends who travel daily for work from another province to lead the shortened prayer (Salat al-Qasr)?

The jurists have agreed on the permissibility of a resident praying behind a traveler. The more sound opinion is that it is not disliked, due to the absence of any شرعي ( Shar’i / divinely legislated) prohibition. The evidence for permissibility is what was narrated by Abu Dawud and Ahmad from Imran ibn Husain (may Allah be pleased with him), that the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) led the people of Mecca in prayer with two rak'ahs while he was traveling, then he told them, "Complete your prayer." Therefore, your prayer behind an imam who shortens the prayer is valid.
