What is the Sharia ruling regarding a wife's refusal to return to her husband's family home after childbirth, given the conflict between the husband and his family, the family's refusal to inquire about her, and the wife's insistence on not returning even if it leads to separation, knowing that the wife has support from the husband's sisters?

It is the wife's right to reside in an independent dwelling, and she is not obliged to accept living with her husband's family, nor is she required to serve them. However, if she volunteers to do so, it is an act of kindness. Therefore, the wife is not obligated to live with her husband's family, and the husband cannot force her to do so. This is not an act of disobedience (to the husband), and the husband must honor his parents. It is advisable to strive for reconciliation between the family and the wife. The wife can be housed near the parents to serve them, and the wife cannot refuse that.
