What is the ruling on saying: "Look at the stars, look how they shine for you"?

This statement falls under the category of compliments. If the speaker intends to allude to Allah Almighty's blessing of the stars, which illuminate and guide in darkness, then he is correct. Allah has clarified the wisdom behind their creation: to adorn the sky, to stone devils, and to guide people on land and at sea, as stated in His verse: {And it is He who made the stars for you that you may be guided by them through the darknesses of the land and sea} [Al-An'am: 97], and His saying: {And We have certainly adorned the nearest heaven with lamps [i.e., stars] and have made [from] them missiles to stone the devils} [Al-Mulk: 5]. But if he intends that someone has a special distinction for the shining of the stars because of them, then he is a liar and mistaken.
