Does the ruling on the beard shift to being recommended if the reason for opposition, which was associated with the command to leave the beard in the Prophetic narrations, is no longer present, especially since opposition is no longer linked to the beard in our current era?
Letting the beard grow is a religious obligation based on repeated commands from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, who explicitly stated that this is a command from his Lord.
The jurisprudential rule states that consideration is given to the generality of the wording, not the specificity of the cause.
The majority of scholars have deemed shaving the beard forbidden, and some scholars have even reported a consensus on this matter. What has been narrated from some Shafi'is regarding the dislike of shaving contradicts what is explicitly stated by Imam Al-Shafi'i himself.
The wisdom behind letting it grow remains the emulation of the of the Messengers.
