A wife is not permitted to refuse her husband's bed, even if he is disobedient. She should advise her husband gently and calmly. If he persists in his disobedience and she fears she will not be able to uphold God's limits with him, she may request a divorce or khul'. She is permitted to free herself from him by giving him what he requests, such as waiving her right to the house or the custody of the children.
