Does this chronic illness increase one's rank with Allah, and is it permissible to supplicate for martyrdom through it, based on the hadiths reported concerning the one afflicted with abdominal disease (al-mabṭūn)?

We ask Allah to grant you healing, well-being, and complete reward. You are in a state of great good, and it is hoped that you will receive the reward of those who are content, for contentment with affliction is a station above patience and is commendable. There is no harm in asking Allah to make you die as a martyr, and this does not contradict the prohibition against wishing for death. We advise you to strive in taking the means to healing and treatment, and to frequently ask Allah for well-being, while maintaining complete contentment with Allah's decree and destiny.
