Is it permissible to use money earned from working in a company that manufactures cigarette packaging machines, which involved unlawful acts such as music and indecent images and neglecting Friday prayers, to support needy relatives or to give it to poor Muslims?

Residing in non-Muslim countries entails religious and moral corruptions, and Satan is an enemy to man. One must strive against Satan through seeking forgiveness, repentance, charity, righteous companionship, lawful earnings, and sincere worship. Working in companies that assemble cigarette packaging machines is forbidden because it constitutes aiding in sin and aggression, and the money earned from it is unlawful. Unlawful money should be spent on public welfare for Muslims and those in need, and relatives are more deserving of it, with the intention of divesting oneself of it, not as charity. It is not necessary to inform them of its unlawful nature. What was spent on oneself and one's family from this money before receiving the fatwa (definition) does not need to be compensated.
