What is the legal ruling on the method of this شيخ who recites Al-Fatihah and Al-Mu'awwidhat (Surahs Al-Falaq and An-Nas), and blows on the site of pain to treat illnesses, whether through personal presence or via video? Are there karamat (miraculous graces) for some شيخs or callers to knowledge? And what is the ruling on one who seeks treatment from this شيخ?

Recitation and blowing (naft) directly on the site of pain are prescribed, as it has been authentically reported that the Prophet (peace be upon him) used to do so.

As for recitation and blowing from a distance, the blowing does not reach the person being ruqya-ed (treated with incantations), and blowing is recommended by the majority of scholars. It is a gentle puff without saliva. They have all agreed on its permissibility, and the majority has recommended it. Its benefit lies in seeking blessings through the moisture, air, and direct breath involved in the ruqya. The ruqya practitioner's breath confronts evil influences and seeks assistance through the ruqya and blowing to remove their effects.

The direct presence of the ruqya practitioner with the afflicted person is essential due to the need for blowing on the one being ruqya-ed. It is hoped that benefit will be achieved through supplication after the recitation, just as the supplication of a Muslim for his Muslim brother in his absence is answered.

The miraculous feats (karamat) of the Awliya (saints) are true, and they will continue to exist until the Day of Judgment.
