What is the ruling regarding a wife who prevents her husband from looking at her phone, thus raising suspicions in him?

The default is to have a good opinion of a Muslim and to interpret their actions favorably. Suspicion (su' adh-dhann) is forbidden. It is the heart's conviction and judgment of ill-will towards another without clear evidence that leaves no room for interpretation. As for fleeting thoughts and self-talk, these are pardoned. This is particularly emphasized for spouses, given the command for good companionship.

A husband does not have the right to inspect his wife's phone or her affairs without suspicion. Jealousy is blameworthy if there is no suspicion, and praiseworthy if there is. A husband's betrayal of his righteous wife without cause can lead to corruption, because "jealousy without suspicion breeds evil, even if it is innocent."

Spouses should foster trust between them. This is aided by the prevalence of faith and obedience to the Most Merciful in the home, and by holding or attending gatherings of knowledge and remembrance. For when faith settles in the heart, it yields goodness.
