What should a man say to someone who asks him about his divorced wife, so that the divorce does not count against him two or three times?

Divorce is reprehensible without a legitimate شرعي excuse. It must conform to the Sunnah, meaning that he divorces her with a single pronouncement during a period of purity in which no intercourse has occurred, and he leaves her until her iddah (waiting period) expires. If the husband informs [others] that he has divorced his wife, the divorce does not become multiple thereby if he intended to inform about a previous divorce and did not intend to initiate a new divorce.
