Is a person considered a hypocrite or a sinner if he finds it difficult to lower his gaze and abstain from forbidden things, despite his attempts to commit himself and draw closer to God, and how can he repent and be cured of these psychological problems?

Fear of hypocrisy is a good sign and proof of faith. To lower your gaze from forbidden things, we advise you with the following:

- Strive against your soul by lowering your gaze from women and forbidden images, and avert your gaze from anything that suddenly appears.

- Marriage is one of the greatest means to help preserve one's gaze, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said: "Whoever among you can afford to marry, let him do so, for it helps lower the gaze and guard chastity."

- Stay away from anything that leads to looking at what is forbidden, such as entering places where women are present and using devices that display their images.

- Benefit from modern technologies for what is useful and abandon what is not.
