Does divorce occur if the wife leaves the house with her husband’s permission and assistance, after he had sworn by divorce that she would be divorced if she left without his permission or knowledge, and then a quarrel broke out between the husband and her brother?

If the husband told his wife that he would divorce her if she left without his knowledge or permission, and then she left with his permission, then no oath is broken and nothing is incumbent upon him. However, if he swore to divorce her if she left without his permission, then the divorce does not occur by her leaving. Rather, the husband breaks his oath if he does not divorce her. This is merely a promise and a threat, by which no divorce occurs, nor is fulfilling it obligatory, nor is it even recommended, as Ibn Taymiyyah mentioned that a promise of divorce does not occur, no matter how many times it is uttered, nor is fulfilling it obligatory, nor is it recommended.
