Is the raising of the forefinger by worshippers in the mosque when the Imam recites verses of glorification considered an innovation that necessitates condemnation, and if so, how should it be condemned?

The Sunnah dictates that a worshiper should point with his index finger during his Tashahhud and supplications whenever the word "Allah" (the Glorious Name) is mentioned, based on what has been authentically reported from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. As for the congregants pointing with their index fingers when the Imam recites a verse that glorifies Allah or mentions His beautiful names, this has no basis and is contrary to the Sunnah.
