Can a human marry a female Jinn or have intercourse with her?

It is not permissible for a human male to marry a female Jinn, based on the understanding of the verses which indicate that marriage is between members of the same species, as conveyed by the exegetes. Also, marriage was legislated for affection and love, which is absent in the Jinn. Furthermore, there is no religious authorization for such a marriage, and it entails many harms, such as uncertainty about the wife due to the Jinn's ability to shapeshift, and the difficulty of fulfilling the conditions of marriage, such as a guardian, two just witnesses, and the woman being free of impediments. Al-Mawardi holds that such a marriage is rejected by reason due to the disparity between the two species and the difference in their natures.
